So, I've always wanted to write a book. Problem is, I have little patience to write the details of the story and am much better at overall concepts and plot lines. My brother however is very good at the details. He mainly writes poems because he doesn't have the patience to develop plot lines. Funny, huh?
Well, a few years ago, Eric told me he thought we should write a book. The idea lasted about a week, maybe two before we both lost interest. Recently, mainly due to my lack of gaming, my watching such great movies as the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Pirates of the Carribean, I feel inspired to try again. Over Christmas, I mentioned that we should co-write something. He latched on to the idea and so far, a week later, we are still going.
I'm outlining the story and the character details. He has been acting as my editor and sounding board so far. It's pretty exciting, although, as a realist, I am tempering my enthusiasm with the reality that not everyone can can be J.R.R. Tolkein and few even get published. But so far, I'm letting myself dream lofty dreams. : )

Intro/Update on Life
So, this is my first blog. Hopefully my writing style will improve as I blog. For now, you'll have to bear with me. Or not.
I am a recovering WoW (World of Warcraft) -aholic. For those of you living under a virtual rock, that is a very popular online role playing game that sucks the real life out of you. I have an excuse though. I have several real life friends (including my brother) who played also, and that was our place to hang out and talk.
Actually, now that I don't play, I don't get to talk to them as much (not much of a phone guy). I have however, decided to pursue an interest in video game level design (as a hobby). Warcraft 3 (damn you Blizzard for making such addictive games) has a game editor that allows fans to create their own levels. So far I'm having a blast. Although I find that I am a bit of a perfectionist. There was a period of about 3 weeks where I stopped editing because I couldn't get one of the features to work the way I want :)
Anyway, I'm going to go walk a few miles then eat me some sheppard's pie that I made. Mmmm... pie.
